Harrow's Streams: Identification

Learn how to identify freshwater wildlife

Our pond dipping events are a great introduction to identifying freshwater invertebrates. These are led by volunteers from Harrow Nature Conservation Forum who bring all the kit necessary to view and identify the various animals we find.

Volunteers for the Riverfly Monitoring program are trained by an expert from the Zoological Society of London or Thames21.

We have funds to send volunteers keen on further training on a Freshwater Biological Association residential course to learn more advanced identification skills.
