HNCF logo Conservation action - join us!

During conservation action events we do various jobs from the major, such as felling trees to create grassland rides, to jobs as simple as cutting back bramble from paths or picking up litter. All are useful in keeping the Harrow's wild spaces attractive to both wildlife and people. You get some gentle exercise in pleasant surroundings. Tools are provided and volunteers are fully insured. Approximate finishing times are shown but there is no obligation to stay until the end.

In August 2023 we are launching The Roving Team, a joint project of Harrow Nature Conservation Forum, Harrow Council and The Conservation Volunteers*. On a number of days through the summer volunteers will work in wildlife sites around Harrow, many of them small sites that most people are unaware of but which are critical refuges for wildlife. You can meet the team at the site at 10:30 AM, but you can alternatively get a ride to the site from the central pickup point on Milton Road, close to the junction with Station Road ‐ that's beside the old Civic Centre in Wealdstone. Click here for a map. Pickup will be at 10:00 AM and should be booked in advance by contacting the organizer Luke Farnsworth by email at luke.farnsworth@tcv.org.uk or by phone on 0774 089 9620. Work at the site will end at 3:00 PM with a trip back to Milton Road arriving at around 3:30 PM, but you can of course finish as early as you like. Look for “Harrow Wildlife Action Roving Team” in the listings.

The green dots on the sketch map on the left shows the location of the sites. Click on a dot for information on that site including the contact details for the site warden and the location where we will meet.
